How a drawing commission works
I work from sittings which gives me a chance to get to know the sitter. Most drawings are completed in two sessions of about two hours each. The sittings are relaxed and usually take place in the subject’s home.
Paintings
How a painting commission works.
The first thing to consider is what size painting you would like. My portraits fall into four size categories;
Head and shoulders
These take about ten hours sitting time which can take place over several short sessions or a couple of long ones.
These portraits require about twelve hours of sitting over four or five sessions.
Half -length
Full-length portrait
These take fifteen hours of sitting, usually in five or more sessions.
Group portrait
These projects are more complex. After an initial group sitting, each figure in the painting poses alone for about four sessions.
